El Viaje Iluminado

Location: San Jose, Ca.

This work is rooted in the urban graffiti art tradition, created in collaboration with Artik Art & Architecture, to establish a placemaking public art statement for the building exterior. Taking my spray paint abstractions and having them magnified and transferred into laser-cut positive and negative spaces in steel panels. These panels were then powder coated and painted free-hand, based on an original computer sketch. Designed as one image, the work was divided into smaller sections for production and installation around the building facade.
